I wanted to share this picture of us holding hands just before my wedding twenty-two years ago in honor of his memory.
Interestingly, while the pain of him not being here gets easier over time, thinking about him as a role model only gets stronger. Hardly a day goes by when I don't ask myself, "what would dad do in this situation." The amazing thing is that the answer is always clear, and I am eternally grateful for this guide.
His memory is a blessing.
I love this post & sentiment. Just this past Mon was the 3rd anniversary of my mom's passing. Both my mom & dad, also gone, remain amazing inspirations to me.
Same is true for me Ami. My Dad has been gone for over 30 years now and not a day goes by without thinking about him - so I share those same thoughts. Perhaps like you Ami, my Dad was my first mentor and his sage advice made a lasting impression on me. Still does today.
